Full disclosure: I am not an engineer and didn’t go to Cal Tech. Nor do I have access to the flight recorders from two recent air disasters. But enough evidence is available to the average layman to suggest that negligent corporate governance at Boeing helped lead to tragedy. My point here is not to slam Boeing’s board and management. Plenty of investigators, litigators, activists and more will do that. I want to point to a major contributor to this tragedy, the destructive driver that led to the killing of innocent people, loss of billions, elimination of trust in the brand and a resulting degradation of Boeing’s global brand value.
